MWFHC Grooming DVD
The Midwest Fjord Horse Club has developed a helpful 15-minute video "How to trim the Fjord mane and grooming tips".
The video offers practical, clear answers to tough questions such as:
- Why is a well-trimmed Fjord mane so important in the show ring?
- How can the arch in the mane enhance the horse's overall conformation?
- What equipment works best to trim the mane?
- What can be done with "difficult" manes (overgrown, bushy, thick) to make them look better?
- How should the rest of the horse's head -- the ears, poll, nose, jaw, and neck -- be groomed?

MWFHC Tack Fitting DVD
Second in the Club's educational videos is "Fitting Tack to the Fjord Horse".
Michelle Endries, owner of Horsey Habit in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, explains how to choose tack that correctly fits Fjords -- or any other size, shape, or breed of horse.
About half of this informative 27-minute video shows Michelle's practical, easy method to evaluate the fit of English and western saddles.
Michelle also discusses these topics:
- Choosing the right size, shape, and style of saddle pad
- Selecting a girth or cinch and placing it correctly to avoid sores or discomfort
- Using shims to adjust saddle fit if necessary
